And of the Mahdi's return ~ she says that she is only on page 61 of the Koran ~ and we will have to wait for her response. And the troubling question of religious minority rights in Iran and other parts of the Islamic world ~ Lauren has replied, whatever God says, is!
On a serious note many of the contradictory passages in the Koran ~ highlight the pre-Meccan years and those after the Kaaba was forcibly taken. The verses that reflect the pre-Meccan years, found at the front of the Koran, Muhammad had no more than 100 followers. But once he picked up the sword to defend the Meccan stone ~ that's the Black Stone at the corner stone of the Kaaba, of which knowingly or unknowingly all Muslims face when they pray ~ his luck suddenly changed. On taking the Kaaba, Muhammad immediately rushed to kiss its Black Stone. How he achieved this was to attack his own family, the keepers of the Kaaba for 700 years before Islam. And in this light Islam was spread, 100s of millions ruthlessly slaughtered, to spread the 'peaceful and loving' Islam. When the more extreme or violent verses at the back of the Koran, come in conflict with the more genteel ones, they supersede them. And that's the problem.
Here is one account of Islam's early years:
Muhammad sent Khalid Ibn al-Walid to the tribe of the children of Haritha and told him: "Call them to accept Islam before you fight with them. If they respond, accept that from them, but if they refuse, fight them." Khalid told them: "Accept Islam and spare your life." They entered Islam by force. He brought them to Muhammad. Muhammad said to them: "Had you not accepted Islam I would have cast your heads under your feet"
Spirituality Makes Tony Blair's Sister-in-Law Convert to Islam
TEHRAN (FNA)- Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair's sister-in-law Lauren Booth said she converted to Islam after she felt the deep spiritual touch of Islam during her recent visit to the Shiite Shrine in the holy city of Qom in Iran.
"My experience shows that Islam is the religion of love and kindness towards friends and even enemies, Islam wants us to have the best spirits," Booth told FNA.
Recalling her pilgrimage to Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) in Qom 6 weeks ago, she said that she felt connected with Allah (God) during that spiritual trip but did not decided to convert to Islam at the time and just surrendered herself to the Almighty for guidance.
"I converted to Islam in London a week after (the visit to Qom)," she announced.
She said that her respect for and acquaintance with Islam backs to her visit to Gaza in 2005.
"When I went to Gaza after Israel's attack in 2008-2009 on Gaza I witnessed calmness as well as my Muslim friends' closeness with their God. That was unbelievable for me," Booth added.
After they fired rockets!!
Blair's sister-in-law revealed over the weekend that she has converted to Islam. Booth, who is half-sister to Cherie Blair and a Catholic by birth, switched faith after a recent visit to Iran. A human rights campaigner and journalist, she works for Press TV, Iran's English language international news channel.
News of Booth's conversion surfaced after she was showcased at a rally in London under the banner of Global Peace and Unity 2010, attended by several Islamic activists.
