Pakistan: Nato fuel supply truck attacked by bomb

Islamabad, 5 Oct. (AKI) - A truck carrying fuel for NATO forces in Afghanistan was damaged Tuesday by a bomb blast in northwestern Pakistan. The small bomb exploded when the truck was parked close to the border that separates the two troubled south Asian countries.

It was the fourth bomb attack in Pakistan on trucks carrying Nato fuel.

Pakistan has closed the Nato supply route to protest an Apache helicopter assault on Taliban insurgents that crossed over from Afghanistan and killed three Pakistani border guards.

One report cited Wajid Khan, a local administrator in Pakistan's Khyber tribal region, as saying the bomb was planted underneath the tanker and that the truck was parked next to around 100 other vehicles waiting to cross over into Afghanistan.
