THEY SHOULD HAVE A BIGGER VOICE IN HOW GOVERNMENT IS RUN
Who would have thought that big corporations and the super rich felt this way? But they have a point…they are beleaguered, demonized and deprived of their ability to operate without pesky regulations. They feel that they are hurting, they are not making the profits they were during the Bush years and that is very unfortunate.
The corporations feel that they can’t do anything to improve their lot; they can’t take advantage of cheap labor or to take their companies abroad; nor do they have it easy now when they close their manufacturing operations and move them to another country.
What to do? My goodness, if things keep going to the left we are going to resemble some European nation, with worker’s rights and benefits, labor laws, safety measures and even paying higher taxes to pay for SOCIALIST endeavors. That should never happen in CAPITALIST AMERICA…the birthplace of monopolies and the crib of greed.
So they are more than justified to seek redress, to find new ways to tilt the scales…why those awful labor unions, those horrific progressives, those advocating that DEMOCRACY has to be placed in the hands of the people through fair and transparent elections. That is totally unacceptable because corporations can’t fight against such an overwhelming number of people…they just can’t.
However, if they pour enough money into THINK TANKS, activist organizations, PACs, lobbyists and donate heavily to political campaigns, they might be able to gain some ground…perhaps even cancel out the power the hoards of voters that have organized and go out to vote will affect business negatively.
There is absolutely no reason why we can’t get America to borrow heavily to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy; there is no logical reason why we could not have an increase in subsidies and perks for companies who take their operations abroad…there is not one good reason why a responsible, successful CEO should have to sell his second home in the Hamptons or give up his Lear Jet… it just isn’t fair.
