TAX CUTS TO BE EXTENDED TO THE VERY WEALTHY

NOT ON OBAMA’S WATCH

When John McCain was asked how many homes he owned during the last Presidential Campaign he couldn’t answer…that is how stinking, filthy rich the guy is. Of course we don’t expect him to support any elimination of the tax cuts for the very wealthy…did you really think he would?

We have to tell these Tea Bagger-Republicans that extending the tax cuts to the very rich is just not an option. It is simply not practical to have our country deprived of over 700 billion dollars in revenue that would have to be borrowed from the Chinese. I seriously doubt that the majority of Americans would want to hand over that inheritance of debt to their children and grandchildren just so that the very rich can keep their third or fourth home in the Hamptons, a villa in La Romana, a 5th Avenue apartment and a ski lodge in Vail or still have more money to be spent on crass excesses and vulgar opulence. Tell us please, does our country have to go into debt so they can have another Lear jet?

President Obama campaigned on that very issue…there will be no taxes for those making less than $250,000 a year and that he was going to let the Bush tax cuts expire at the end of 2010. When I see signs that say “no new taxes” I even wonder if these people are not aliens from outer space…where have they been all these years? And if they are so gun-ho about not raising the taxes on the very rich, what difference will this make in their bleak, insignificant lives? After all I have said it before…these people don’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.

Bush instituted those tax cuts to benefit his rich cronies and because he thought the government was collecting too much money. The result was a record deficit and an unbalanced budget year after year…is that what they are talking about when they say “fiscal responsibility”?
