For a change, Delhi Based Alt-rock outfit Fire Exit’s debut E.p Ok Bye doesn’t obsess with beingdifferent. And quite frankly, that is what makes them sound Sparkling andenergetic in a way. This six-song wonder is an effective manifestation offeel-good Progressive/ Alternative Rock that is well produced and overflowingwith Solid Grooves and Chirpy vocal lines. This does lack Coherence though- butthat, the deeply magnified song-writing makes up for. The Tabla, however, doesn’t really fit inwell for the most part and in many ways makes numbers like ‘Heroes’ falter infits and starts. What the album could’ve also done better with is a little morecrunch on the bass and a little more thought on the rhythm sections. On thewhole however, Ok Bye twinkles of promise and a few moments of brilliance. Mostimportantly though, it’s got something too many recent alt-rock albums havelacked: excitement.
