According to Muhammad stealing from others is okay ~ but stealing from other Muslims is not done!! That is when stealing becomes wrong.
Muhammad arranged raids on passing caravan ~ and Islamic law even covers the sharing out of the booty! But the Arabs were raiding people long before Muhammad ~ as they were in a prime position at the cross roads between Africa and Asia. Mecca in pre-Islamic times was meant to be excluded from tribal and other hostilities ~ it was a place where people could bring their Gods to worship at the Kaaba stone in peace.
Seeing himself as their leader, Muhammad put himself at the head of these raids, excusing them on the grounds of the injustice of poverty and describing the raids as part of a holy war (Jihad) against the rulers of Mecca for their having rejected his teaching. Muhammad and his followers had been developing a contempt for people they called "idolaters" -- for people who worshipped traditional, numerous gods. Energized by religious fervor, a sense of unity and the prospect of booty, his men fought well. [+]
Sorry about the little kid. He did not deserve that.
Kuala Lumpur - Malaysian police said Monday they were questioning an Islamic school teacher who has been placed on remand for allegedly beating a 7-year-old student to death.
Saiful Syazani Saiful Sopfidee was taken to local hospital in the southern state of Perlis on Saturday where he slipped into a coma and died the next day.
The cause of death was internal bleeding in the head and heart complications, the New Straits Times newspaper said.
Saiful, a student at a privately run Islamic school, was reportedly tied up and beaten for two hours after a teacher accused him of stealing 7 ringgit (2.28 dollars) from another student.
The boy, described as happy and obedient, did not have prior problems in school, his adopted mother told the Star newspaper.
Perlis police said the 26-year-old suspect, who was also the school warden, has been on remand since Saturday. He is being investigated for murder.
