America's Female Soldiers Forced to Wear Hijabs

To judge by this picture, our various wars in the Middle East are not going well:

American female soldiers stationed in Afghanistan are being encouraged to wear a Muslim headscarf when interacting with civilians. But some question whether the practice constitutes cultural sensitivity or a form of appeasement that is degrading to U.S. soldiers.

What does "encouraged" mean in this context? It means commanded.

Major Kyndra Rotunda, executive director of the Military Law and Policy Institute and AMVETS Legal Clinic, told The Daily Caller that while the women are not being ordered to wear the head scarf, encouragement is tantamount to a demand.

This sort of foolishness has been imposed before:

Retired Col. Martha McSally, whose grievance about being forced to wear the Muslim abaya while stationed in Saudi Arabia in the 1990s resulted in 2002 legislation outlawing the practice of making female soldiers wear Muslim religious garb in Saudi Arabia, told The Daily Caller that the sanctity of the uniform should not be sullied with outside accessories like the hijab.

"Another thing that makes this inappropriate is that they are wearing it with their uniform," she said. "All the services have several-hundred-page regulations about what is appropriate and is not appropriate to wear with the uniform, and we have very strict guidelines … You are representing the United States government. You are wearing the U.S. military uniform, and it confuses what you are representing when you add this to the uniform."

Not to mention that hijabs obstruct peripheral vision and are somewhat less effective at stopping bullets and shrapnel than Kevlar helmets. But for the politicians running the military, the important thing is to obsequiously pander to Islamic practices, even those that represent the subjugation of women.
Get used to the look. If we don't start taking our own side in this fight, it will be catching on closer to home.

Abercrombie & Fitch Sparks Outcry With Padded Bikini Tops for 8-Year-Olds

Swimsuit season is looming, and stores are galore with itty bitty bikinis. 

But shockingly, one of America’s largest clothing retail chains, Abercrombie & Fitch, is marketing padded bikini tops to girls as young as eight.

Included in the current spring line for Abercrombie Kids (a division of the fashion company specifically dedicated to 8-14 year olds) is the “Ashley” Push-Up Triangle – a triangular-shaped bikini top which comes complete with thick padding for breast enhancement.

Moms and child development experts are aghast over the garment and the damage it could potentially do to young girls in making them feel inadequate with their pre-adolsecent bodies.

“This is appalling! If a parent buys a padded bikini for an eight year old, children's services should be called! The sexualization of teens is bad enough and now this trend is trickling down to our babies,” parenting expert Dr. Janet Rose told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “If we continue to try to make our children value 'sexy' I shudder to think what damage we are doing to their future self-concepts and adult values. In the long run, I fear we are creating girls who will suffer from low self-esteem and all the issues that go along with that.”

A rep for Abercrombie & Fitch was not immediately available for comment.

Los Angeles-based psychologist, Dr. Nancy Irwin, said wearing a chest-boosting bikini top at such a young age can pave the way for sexual promiscuity.

“Wearing a padded bra at that age when unnecessary is encouraging sexual precociousness, a dangerous muscle to flex for the girl as well as for peers and predators,” she explained.

Human Behavior expert Patrick Wanis PhD concurred that the padded tops are both disturbing and dangerous.

“Are we sexualizing young girls to get the attention of men or to encourage women to use their daughters to compensate for their own lack of sexual appeal by living vicariously through their daughter?" Wanis asked. "Is this the extreme extension of the beauty-pageant mother who now seeks to make up for what she can never be?”

Other experts say the onus is on parents, not the fashion industry, over what young children wear.

“It doesn't matter much, these days, as to what the comments are surrounding what the fashion industry has decided our teeny-bopper sex tantalizers should adorn themselves in. I'm slapping the blame on moms  for not seeing any further than their own breast implants when it comes to purchasing push-uppers for girls that don't, as yet, actually have any breasts,” said Shirlee Smith, CEO/Founder of “Talk About Parenting With Shirlee Smith.” “Who is paying for this sexy- kiddie marketing?  Mom in the short run, sex object girls in the long run.”

Tampa Judge: Decided under “Ecclesiastical Islamic Law.”--Sharia Law

A judge in Tampa, Florida is creating a buzz with a ruling some say shows that shariah law is creeping into the U.S. One look at the alleged ruling shows it is suspicious. But is it really an example of shariah “comin’ to America?”

According to a document on the website Jihad Watch, Circuit Court Judge Richard A. Nielsen ordered earlier this month that a civil  dispute between current and former leaders of a local mosque over who controls funds awarded during a 2008 eminent domain proceeding be decided under “Ecclesiastical Islamic Law.” Below is a copy of the relevant section:

The current mosque leaders want the case decided according to secular, Florida civil law, and their attorney has been vigorously arguing the case accordingly.

The former trustees of the mosque want the case decided according to sharia law.

Here’s the kicker.

The judge recently ruled “This case will proceed under Ecclesiastical Islamic law,” (sharia law), “pursuant to the Qur’an.” [Emphasis hers]

Now it’s not unusual for a dispute to arise within a religious institution and for a court to order a mediation or arbitration, in order to resolve this without the court having to render its own judgment.

But what makes this case unusual, and highly troubling, is that a group of Muslim leaders—the CURRENT mosque leaders—who do NOT want to be subject to sharia law, are being compelled to do so by an American judge!

“In effect, due process in an American court is being denied and Sharia law is being imposed on an unwilling participant,” Tillison writes. “Right here in Florida.”

But some commenters over at Jihad Watch don’t think this is a blatant example of creeping shariah. For example, commenter TheSSBlock explains that those involved in the case are simply asking the judge to be an arbitrator (something Tillison’s post recognizes), and that isn’t cause for alarm:

This isn’t the imposition of Islamic Law per se. Arbitration agreements (contracts) between parties are regularly taken to Civil Courts for enforcement in cases of dispute. Parties who agree to arbitrate have willingly chosen a method of dispute resolution outside of the court system. Arbitrators do not have to follow state or federal laws in making their decisions – or any recognized law at all.

Although not truly unlimited, if two parties agree to arbitrate their disputes, for all intents and purposes, they can bind themselves to an outcome under almost any system of law, of any religion, or any procedure. Unless a party can show fraud, duress, or coercion, an arbitration agreement functions like any contract which a court must uphold so long as it is clear, unambiguous, and freely negotiated. Consequently, a party may also have a cause of action in questioning the neutrality of the arbitrator or if no meaningful procedure was followed to guarantee a just result.

Upholding Islamic law agreed upon through arbitration is not really a problem. A problem would arise however, if, absent any agreement, the court attempted to invoke Islamic law on its own initiative, which of course it is not permitted to do.

TheSSBlock is correct to point out that the case is a civil, not a criminal, one. But there still seems to be a lot of questions. So we called the Circuit Court clerk in Hillsborough County, Florida. A representative there referred us to Judge Nielsen’s judicial assistant, so we called her, too. We did talk to that assistant, but she refused to comment on the case. Instead, she took our name and number and said she would try and have someone get back to us.

Parents Group Protests ABC for ‘Good Christian Bitches’ Comedy Pilot

 
Recently, the Parents Television Council accused MTV of peddling child pornography in its risque series “Skins,“ a show PTC decried for its ”foul language, illegal drug use, illegal activity as well as thoroughly pervasive sexual content.”

Now, the PTC is turning their attention to network television, specifically an upcoming comedy pilot program called “Good Christian Bitches” for Disney-owned ABC.

The program is reportedly based on author Kim Gatlin’s novel of the same name which follows the life of reformed “mean girl” Amanda who returns to her hometown of Dallas and finds herself at the center of malicious gossip from the women in the Christian community.  The “dramedy” is the latest project of famed “Sex and the City” and “90210” executive producer Darren Star.

Although the program is still in its early stages of development and the pilot program has not been guaranteed a spot in ABC’s lineup, it’s already causing an uproar.

In a statement Wednesday, PTC President Tim Winter called the ABC pilot “not only an affront to women,“ but also claimed ”it blatantly attacks the world’s largest faith.”

“The ‘b-word’ is toxic and is used to degrade, abuse, harass, bully and humiliate women.  And the ‘Christian’ element only adds insult to injury,” Winter said.  “Regardless of whether the title ultimately makes it to broadcast, ABC has publicly proclaimed its values and it has tarnished the Disney brand.”

Winter is calling on PTC members and other concerned citizens to sign a petition to protest the network.  “Unless or until ABC realizes that its decision about Good Christian Bitches was misguided, PTC will use every method at its disposal to turn advertisers and viewers away from a provocative title that compromises respect for both women and Christians in an attempt to draw ratings.”“Would ABC even consider another faith to denigrate?” Winters added.  “Would they even consider a program title of a plot line based on ‘Bitches’ who were Muslim, Hindu, Jewish of Buddhist?  I suspect not, and I certainly hope not.  So why the double standard?”

The PTC has long supported efforts to raise language standards to family programming.  “Once a particular profanity or obscenity has been embraced by a particular show, it quickly becomes mainstream,” PTC’s director of communications and public education told Fox News.

Additionally, the Womens Media Center is also questioning ABC’s programming guidelines.  “It is not an appropriate term to use to describe any woman, regardless of their faith,” WMC’s Yana Walton says. “Entertainment media, especially music and films, have been normalizing misogynistic language for years.”

So far, ABC has yet to comment on the story, but the LA Times notes that the controversial title is tentative: “A decision on whether the series is picked up won’t be announced until May and the title could change by then.”


America, keep the heat on ABC. Let them know, their future financial survival is at risk. This show can never be allowed to air.

The ABC network is currently working on a pilot for a prime-time program called “Good Christian B-tches.”

It’s a Christian-bashing version of ABC’s current “Desperate Housewives.” The show centers on a recently divorced mother of two who moves back to the affluent neighborhood where she grew up to find herself in the whirling midst of gossip, Botox and fraud.

Disney-owned ABC has no reservations about creating hate speech against Christians, but you can be sure they would never consider a show called “Good Muslim B-tches” or “Good Jewish B-tches.”

With a title like “Good Christian B-tches,” you can imagine what kind of show it will be. Even if they change the title, the content will still mock people of faith.

TAKE ACTION

Sign a petition to ABC and parent company Disney to drop all plans to air the anti-Christian program “Good Christian B-tches.”

We’ll add your petition to thousands of other voices in also urging advertisers to place it on their “do not advertise” list and consider pulling all ads from the ABC network in protest of this Anti-Christian bigotry.

Public Schools Alter Preamble: Teach Kids Socialism.

The Promise Of America Is. . . Socialism?  That’s exactly what is being taught in many American public schools.

Under the guise of teaching children to read, the seeds of Socialism are being planted within the minds of young children. Do you believe that the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States mandates the following?

The People’s basic needs must be met in a country. Needs for housing, education, transportation, and health care overseen by our government system.

Those are the words being chanted over and over and over by school children around the country. They are part of an educational program called Building Fluency Through Practice and Performance. This section is called ‘The Promise of America’ and it breaks down the fifty-two word single sentence that is the Preamble.  Here is the original:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Disguised as a reading exercise, the Preamble has been turned into a five page choral project with commentary planted inside this very simple sentence.  Here is an example. Make note of what the children (R5, R6, & R7) are being asked to read after the words ‘promote the general welfare

When did the Preamble or the Constitution include the government meeting the people’s needs for housing, transportation and health care?

Instead of teaching the Preamble and Constitution as it is written, schools from coast to coast are indoctrinating children to Socialism thanks to a company called Teacher Created Materials. TCM sells ‘The Promise of America’ to thousands of school districts all across the country as well as over 100 countries around the world. Several phone calls to TCM, its‘ printing company Shell Education and New York City sales outlet Sussman Sales provided little specific data on just how many schools are currently using the ’Promise of America, ‘ but one company rep told The Blaze the “Fluency program is really really popular.”

This kind of training is reminiscent of Soviet-style indoctrination and the recent stories leaking out of North Korea in the summer of 2009 when Kim Jong il was reportedly close to stepping down and handing over control to his son.

Dong-A Ilbo (the country’s official newspaper) stated that North Korea notified its diplomatic offices and is teaching its people a song in praise of the anointed leader.

The North Korean school children started learning the song first.  Indoctrination starts with the young ones.

Obama: Tea Party Racially Organized, Racist Motivation.

Backlash. There were many effects stemming from Obama's presidency, both those that were expected and those that were not. One was a surprising surge in the number of black Republican candidates in themidterm elections of November 2010. At least 32 African-Americans were running for Congress as Republicans . . . the largest number since Reconstruction, according to The New York Times. The last time there was a black Republican serving in the House was 2003, when J. C. Watts of Oklahoma left office after eight years. The New York Times found that "many of the candidates suggest that they felt empowered by Mr. Obama's election, that it made them realize that what had once seemed impossible—for a black candidate to win election with substantial white support—was not." The states where these candidates were running included Arkansas, Arizona, and Florida.

[Top aide] Valerie Jarrett told me, "I think at the time of his victory, there was an enormous amount of historical significance to this country being able to elect a person who was African-American as president. I think that there are probably people who still see him as an African-American president favorably and unfavorably. But the vast majority of people, I think, see him as their president. I think that because he inherited such a crisis on all fronts—two wars, an economic meltdown, a fiscal meltdown, the largest deficit in our nation's history, and a health crisis, energy crisis, education crisis, confidence crisis around the world—because of this extraordinary moment in history when he stepped in, I don't think there has been a lot of time to focus on his race. People just want to know, 'Are you going to be able to improve the quality of my life?'"

But Obama, in his most candid moments, acknowledged that race was still a problem. In May 2010, he told guests at a private White House dinner that race was probably a key component in the rising opposition to his presidency from conservatives, especially right-wing activists in the anti-incumbent "Tea Party" movement that was then surging across the country. Many middle-class and working-class whites felt aggrieved and resentful that the federal government was helping other groups, including bankers, automakers, irresponsible people who had defaulted on their mortgages, and the poor, but wasn't helping them nearly enough, he said.

A guest suggested that when Tea Party activists said they wanted to "take back" their country, their real motivation was to stir up anger and anxiety at having a black president, and Obama didn't dispute the idea. He agreed that there was a "subterranean agenda" in the anti-Obama movement—a racially biased one—that was unfortunate. But he sadly conceded that there was little he could do about it.

His goal, he said, was to be as effective and empathetic a president as possible for all Americans. If he could accomplish that, it would advance racial progress for blacks more than anything else he could do.
