A few days ago we showed you the first pictures of the brand new Acer beTouch E210, smartphone based on Google Android 2.2 Froyo with a convenient physical keyboard and a design that makes it very similar to RIM's BlackBerry.
After Acer, the South Korean manufacturer Samsung Unveils to the public a device with very similar characteristics, the Galaxy Pro, which is based on Google Android 2.2 Froyo. The Terminal has a capacitive screen 2.8-inch diagonal, 3 Megapixel rear camera, processor from 800 MHz and TouchWiz user interface.
For the moment no information on price and time to market, in the meantime here's a little video directly from the operator Three UK:

Plan B for Android, used only in the event of loss or theft
Plan B for Android, used only in the event of loss or theft...
Nobody was going through your head the idea that to losing your phone until that occurs. This implies that some applications with ability to locate mobile devices can be virtually useless as not being installed previously, how the hell is supposed that we can find them when they are stolen or are simply not where we believe have left? That is why the Lookout Security company submit this interesting solution under the name Plan B in the form of applications that we install on our Android after having lost the trail.
The application makes use of the installer from the website of the Android Market to the terminal, so it will only work if our smartphone supports this function. Once installed, the device activates the GPS receiver and begins to send periodic emails containing links to Google Maps showing the location.
A process which is limited to 10 minutes and can be reactivated at any time by sending a message with the word "locate" (find or locate) from another mobile device.
Plan B currently is undergoing tests within their State of beta version, Éclair being operational only in the United States and smartphones with Android OS 2.0 or higher.
The question now is and if the terminal is switched off or was out of battery?

Android Market: Google removes 21 malicious applications
Android Market: Google removes 21 malicious applications...
Publish applications on Android Market turns out to be much easier and faster than for example the Apple App Store, but the reduced level of controls facilitates the increase of viruses, malware, Trojans, etc.
In recent months Google has stepped up controls in order to discover applications. In recent days have been deleted from the Android Market 21 malicious applications, actually it was mostly counterfeit games containing viruses.
Here's the list:
Hopefully Google can penalize in time these phenomena, the smartphone is no longer just a phone, it might be also documents and personal data.

Tim Cook on Wednesday met February 23 with the main shareholders of the company on the block with three points on the agenda: ratification of the members of the board of directors (William Campbell, Millard Drexler, Albert Gore, Steve Jobs, Andrea Jung, Arthur Levinson and Ronald Sugar), confirming a collaboration agreement with Ernst & Young accounting management level and take stock of the situation of the company to finally answer a question and answer session with shareholders.
After reviewing the main issues of the company, Cook emphasized the 44 new Apple Stores, 10,000 million downloads in the App Store, the 160 million sold and iOS disposiitvos million Apple TV that was sold in December, main assets according to him showing the growth and strength of the company.
Arrived to questions and answers asked by competition, Android and the main devices that can bring to the market entropy of tablets and smartphones, specifically asked if Android is now the "new Windows", which said the analogy was nothing lucky or conform to reality and that the time "post PC" has not yet arrived. They were also asked if, as Android is going to allow access to more resources from the phone, this possibility is not yet covered for safety and compatibility between versions of IOS.
Eventually opened two more points, the first was in reference to a possible Apple video game console and here today said that Apple is already in the video game market with devices capable of executing all the titles in the App Store, the second subject touched the advertising cuts that secured that IAD's misinformation. As you can see nothing new under the sun, the same information and position provided confirmation that the directors of the company are taking Apple to achieve goals growing.

The family will receive Desire Gingerbread HTC Desire S after departure
Currently only officially available Nexus S Android 2.3, better known as Gingerbread, but at the Mobile World Congress leading manufacturers showed their new phones with the latest version, at least Sony Ericsson, HTC, and Samsung the most important.
HTC plans to upgrade their existing handsets when I have adapted and optimized its interface HTC Sense, and tell us not come until the HTC Desire S is in the street, sometime in the spring, "May?.
It is undoubtedly good news for mobile users, and I speak in plural because we speak the original Desire, and its variants more modern and powerful HTC Desire HD and Z.
The news comes from the mouth of its own HTC at Mobile World Congress, and although this does not mean that times may be long as in the past, we believe that from now manufacturers are going to take this matter more seriously.
Speculating a bit in June might think that the update may be received, the date on which we would be talking about Ice Cream, but you know that this works well. Hopefully that does not go to after the summer.

Apple and Google announced their subscription and publication services for publishers
Sooner or later this would happen. Apple and Google leverage its infrastructure to become distribution platforms and content delivery for publishers. That is, we subscribe to newspapers, magazines and other publications through these platforms.
On the one hand we have Apple, which will allow users to subscribe through their App Store. We choose the time of subscription pay as you would any other application on the App Store. Thus we have in our device iOS each new issue of the publication.
In Google's case the process is a little different. Platform is a separate and unrelated to the Android Market, Google will be called One Pass. We will have our subscriptions from your phone or tablet (though not specific, most likely be Android devices at least at first) and from the web. Payments would be made through Google Checkout.
Apple has not mentioned anything of geographical restrictions, so do not know if it is only available for the U.S. or the rest of the world. Google itself has said that One Pass is available in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Canada, UK and USA.
As companies have already adopted the one hand we have The Daily Apple's platform and PRISA media as Popular Science or with Google One Pass.
Both services are the incursion of these two companies in the world of content, a relatively new field for them. We do not know how they will be welcomed by the content industry and who will best go, because each one has its advantages: Apple with a strong culture of payment and a more settled App Store and Google with a system that can reach more users than Apple.
Personally, although I like the idea of subscribing to magazines and newspapers without too much trouble on my phone, I do not like the idea that Google and Apple are those who handle the distribution. It seems too big a leap of areas, technology companies getting in this way in the publishing world. And you, what do you think?

Eric Schmidt: Honeycomb Ice Cream and Gingerbread join
Eric Schmidt, on behalf of Google has been talking a bit about Android in Barcelona, as is customary in these interventions, the book introduces the story: 350,000 phones were activated each day, which would be more than 127 million handsets a year .
Following interesting numbers, these calls are 170 different models from 27 manufacturers associated with 169 different operators in 69 countries. With respect to applications, has exceeded the barrier of 150,000 units, three times more than just 9 months, growth is important.
Ending with the statistics, Eric went on to talk about other things more tangible as a future video editing application for Honeycomb, called Movie Studio. The idea is simple, get results similar to those we can get on a PC from a tablet, and a direct connection to YouTube.
Ice Cream, joining two paths
Very interesting were the statements about the future of Android versions, giving a little light on this issue so confusing. While Android 3.0 is intended for tablets, it is not clear how they will get the news to Smarpthones.
Schmidt explained that the next version of Android, which begins with "I", "Ice Cream?, Combine Gingerbread (2.3 and 2.4) with Honeycomb, in one version. So you better hope we forget phone Honeycomb, Ice Cream and wait as the most significant update.
Ice Cream could be labeled as Android 3.1, and we expect significant improvements in the interface for Smartphones, in line with what we found Honeycomb.
About the mysterious Android 2.4 will support informed us that for applications that have been created to Honeycomb, is actually transparent to users, and we could say that is the way that developers can make applications that run on Honeycomby later in Ice Cream .
Upgrade cycles are engaged in a six-month intervals, according to Schmidt, but the reality is that it is a fact that served us well in practice, since each terminal arrives, if it comes, when many players decide .
If you still have some questions about the future of Android, we emplaced the next May, when celebrating the premier event for developers, although it has become an event of interest, we talk about Google I / O.
Google behind Nokia
At the time, as we have had occasion to know, Google tried to seduce Nokia to use Android, but the end of the story already know, Microsoft was more convincing.
Leaving the world a little Android, Schmidt reminded us last week's news, is that smartphones have overtaken PCs in sales, also informed us that Chrome has more than 120 million active users, and 35 hours of video are uploaded every minute to YouTube.

The fragmentation of Android is going to get worse?
The fragmentation of the Android platform is sufficiently complicated for users, but now there is a risk that confusion is added to the confusion. Android Honeycomb 3.0 per tablet will be available soon, while a ratio of Pocket-lint suggests that Google would launch a version of the operating system in between the smartphone and the tablet to be able to run some app Honeycomb.
Honeycomb is labeled as Android 3.0, but there will be no 3.0 for mobile phones, instead they will receive the update Gingerbread (well, some of these phones will receive it) to version 2.3.
The 2.4, code-named Cream, should allow you to run some app designed for the dual-core and Honeycomb on a standard processor core on a screen much smaller. The supposed date for the launch of this new update should be summer, but obviously this is just rumors.
