IRAQ – US: WE ARE OUT OF HERE

THE LAST OF COMBAT TROOPS IN IRAQ CROSSED INTO KUWAIT AT 8:53 pm (Eastern ST)

Culminating a long and unpopular involvement that has left our nation with 4,500 casualties, untold numbers of wounded and a horrible dent in our treasure.

All of which, thanks to the misguided and askew resolve of a President who was either advised wrongly or who actually knew the truth and told the American people gross misrepresentations or if you will downright lies to engage us into that conflict.

Of course, the warmongers think nothing of this, the significance of this 7 ½ year conflict is meaningless to them as they are still rattling their sabers even promoting openly to engage in other conflicts like attacking Iran. Where does it all stop? When are we as a nation going to learn our lessons? Will these demagogues perpetually expose us and our brave men and women in uniform to unnecessary war?

The American public is kind of tired of it all but not indignant enough yet to repudiate and condemn this kind of behavior and way of thinking. The Republicans are still clinging to this idea of armed conflict to impose our will and our influence into other parts of the world whether it is needed or not.

It is not all over until it is over and we are still waiting for the fat lady to sing…there will remain over 50,000 troops in Iraq albeit in a different capacity, they will remain in harm’s way and some of us are not entirely comfortable with that.
