NOT ONLY DOES HE NOT GET IT, HE IS BEING A TRAITOR TO HIS HERITAGE
Why do I say that? I am going to take one by one the arguments this man is offering and I will take on his misguided ideology. Yeah, he is cute, exceedingly handsome and I suppose there are people out there who will vote for him just because he is good looking. Hey, I remember way back then when Quayle was in the ticket that my daughter’s godmother said she was only voting for him because he was handsome. Go figure.
Now Rubio is criticizing Harry Reid for his statement “if I was a Latino I would not be a Republican” Well Mr. Rubio…I am a Latino and I would rather die than give a Republican my vote. Why? Just take a look around when you go to your convention and see how many Latinos, Blacks, Gays, or other minorities are present…need I say more?
Now, why don’t we examine what you said During an exclusive Newsmax interview, Rubio upbraided Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., for his recent comment that he does not “know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican.”
“It’s part of a concerted effort to get away from the issues and get into identity politics because they can’t win on the issues,” says Rubio, whose parents and grandparents came to the United States from Cuba. “So they want things to be about things like class warfare and identity politics."
No Mr. Rubio, that is not the reason…we know the issues well because most of us belong to the working class and we were the first ones to be hurt by the Republicans and Bush’s incompetence. So if you want to talk about issues; why don’t we start with the mess Republicans left Obama and the Democrats knowing full well they were for the most part responsible for the mess and yet not one single Republican has been willing to step up to the plate and fix the mess they left; on the contrary, they have done even more than obstruct, they have openly and blatantly opposed anything and everything Obama is trying to do to get us out of this hole we are in. And class warfare? Really Mr. Rubio? The class wars have been going on since Reagan who actually started them and the rich won…yes Mr. Rubio, the REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH has already taken place…it has gone from the poor and middle class to the very rich…so don’t even go there.
“It’s very simple: The dominant issue in the Hispanic community and with the American people is economic empowerment — people want to leave their children better off than themselves.”
It is not simple at all Mr. Rubio…you see if we are getting screwed by your Republican cronies…those super rich who are getting the tax cuts, subsidies and even rewarding them for taking jobs overseas then we can’t even keep food on our tables, let alone do anything for our children. What stands out above all is that the REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH has already taken place; it has gone from the poor and the middle class to the top 2% of the richest Americans.
Don’t fool yourself Mr. Rubio that your children are going to be better off with Republicans; as long as you and I and our children clean the floors, wait on tables, do their yard work and pick the fruit; then we have a place in that Republican Party of yours…more specifically in the ultra-right xenophobic, racist wing of your party. But let you and I get a college degree and you will see all kinds of glass ceilings…maybe you didn’t encounter those because you remained in South Florida although I really doubt you didn’t encounter at least some resistance…and now you want to be part of that very group that hates us and thinks of us as sub-human.
“Having Obama operatives supporting him (Crist) is a clear indication [that] what they care about is holding on to power,” Rubio says. “They’ve tried forever to implement their ideas about what they want America to be, and this is their last chance to do it in their minds to preserve that, and I think Charlie Crist is part of that strategy.”
Wrong again on all points Mr. Rubio…Charlie Crist was purged from the Republican Party because he was not radical enough, right-wing enough by people like you and your Tea Bag nuts who support you…frankly, that is so far out to the right that I doubt you will receive a plurality of the votes seeing it that most Americans are somewhere in the middle. So you think that we are trying to implement some absurd idea of what we want America to be…not so, we know what America is and what it is not…America belongs to everyone, there are unalienable rights provided us Americans by that wonderful document called THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE.
Regarding the volatile issue of illegal immigration, Rubio has shied away from endorsing a proposed Florida law that would go further than Arizona’s controversial law by imposing a 20-day jail sentence on immigrants who travel without proper documentation.
And you are silent on this, the most important issue facing Floridians today…go figure…you can criticize Harry Reid, with some doubtful relevance over an Arizona law that is not the business of yours or Harry Reed’s but you don’t even comment on a law that would actually single you out and people like you, and me for racial profiling. Wake up and smell the cafecito Señor. Rubio.
“Had the federal government done its job, there wouldn’t have been an Arizona law,” Rubio says. “I want Arizona not to serve as a model for the other states, but as a wakeup call to the federal government to finally do its job.”
Get over yourself Mr. Rubio, the Federal Government has been doing its job all along and if that was not the case we could not have seen crime rates actually decreasing in Arizona. But you choose not to talk about that because the law in Arizona was instituted with the express purpose of pandering to those elements of the Republican Party that seem to have a hold on power and can now safely dictate to all of you Republicans what is the credo of the Republican Party.
Furthermore Mr. Rubio; the federal government is not going to get anything done because your party doesn’t want anything done…by standing in the way, by actually obstructing any attempt at immigration reform the Republicans win two ways, it is a win-win situation for you and Republicans: they discredit Obama and the Democrats for not being able to pass significant legislation and they can also keep business happy because those very illegal immigrants are the ones that are working for less than minimum wage without benefits and any resemblance of fairness and at the same time because they are the reason the rest of America has an overall lower wage situation. So don’t try to get the waters any murkier than they already are. Business stands to gain, the Republicans stand to gain and therefore you stand to gain.
And why don’t we talk about what Republicans have been doing to Cuban-Americans for years…yes, people like yourself who would much rather allow some “bola” rumor, spread some lies, misinform and confuse the gullible exile community in order to gain votes.
I have yet to hear any of you…Diaz Balart, Ileana Ross or yourself denounce and condemn any of the crap that you have been feeding exiles for years. I remember how my fellow countrymen accused Kennedy of being a communist; then it was Carter and Clinton and now Obama. Along the way, a lot of candidates got the same accusations from Republicans and to this day; there are Cubans who believe that John Kerry was a communist, or his wife Teresa, or that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction…hell Mr. Rubio, I am still very much in touch with my people and I know of some who believe that it was actually Saddam Hussein who attacked the U.S. on 9/11.
And so it goes that now you are being backed by the TEA BAG people and you know damn well that they are not at all completely there, most have loose screws or their elevators don’t go all the way to the top floor. So, stop pandering to the racist elements of your party…they are the very people who can’t stand you and me…they are allergic to accents and eñes and will never accept us as white enough or American enough…so when Mr. Reid said what he did, he is right…only you are delusional not to recognize it.
