Google launches the authentication system in two steps for all

The authentication system user name and password takes many years to us is simple, easy and convenient. However, it is not too safe and are beginning to replace other systems such as OAuth, digital certificates and two-way authentication.

Precisely the latter system is what Google has just launched on all accounts. Activity we have one more layer of security in our account not only need your username and password, but also a random code you receive on your mobile phone, either text, phone or from the Google Authenticator for Android, iPhone and Blackberry.

This system is not new: Google already implemented for users of Google Apps in September, plus the system is often used by banks to verify identity. However, for the common user is a big safety improvement. With this system, if someone gets your password can not do anything without your mobile phone and the corresponding generated code.

In addition, this system is not too uncomfortable. We need not generate and enter the code every time we go to the account, but we can choose the option "Remember me" to enter only once every 30 days. Of course, the first time you enter the account from a different computer than yours you must enter the code mandatory.

You can activate the system from the account settings of Google on the "2-step verification", which will appear gradually over the days.
