Vodafone responds to block VoIP

In recent days, Vodafone has blocked some of the most popular applications for instant messaging, as WhatsApp, and to make VoIP calls, as Viber.

Today, through a tweet, Vodafone tells us the answer that it would notify users who have protested this absurd restriction.

Vodafone does not operate any block VoIP services, but offers all customers the opportunity to choose and use these services by computer, mobile phone or smartphone.

Vodafone offers its customers a wide range of offerings that meet the diverse communication needs, from the simplest to the most advanced, and clearly communicate the features and possible limitations of the individual tariff profiles.

Who wants to get the most from the Internet onto cell has at its disposal Mobile Internet Plus, a promotion that offers up to 2GB of traffic per week at a cost of 8€ per week and that also allows the use of VoIP applications. Anyone wanting to use only Internet browsing from a mobile phone can activate the Mobile Internet to 3€ per week for plans rechargeable and 10 € a month for subscriptions, the option provides traffic thresholds, respectively, included 250MB and 1GB per month per week.

The range of rates and Tablet PC navigation, Internet Key, offers customers a variety of possibilities, both in the subscription version for batteries, according to individual needs and available for expenditure. Always allow Internet Rates, in fact, to stay connected, no time limits, with the freedom to choose the maximum speed based on the services that you intend to use (simple browsing, sending e-mail and chat, music, videos and online games, applications, HD video and VoIP).

The customer is always informed in a transparent manner on the offers that allow you to use VoIP, via the information materials available in stores and on www.vodafone.it. The current offer is perfectly in line with the current regulatory framework, respect the neutrality of the Net, allowing the customer to choose a clear and transparent type of offer and service included.

The General Conditions of Service VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is publicly available at www.vodafone.it since November 2009.

In short, Vodafone has limited the use of such applications exclusively to those users who have signed data plan cheaper, almost everyone.
